On Sunday, 7 December 2025, our school community united with a shared purpose: to support Sri Lanka during one of its most challenging times. In response to the devastating floods, NPSS organised a special fundraiser, with all proceeds directed to the Sri Lankan Government’s designated Central Bank flood-relief accounts.
The event became a beautiful display of compassion, teamwork, and community spirit.
A Day Filled With Purpose and Heart
Our fundraiser featured several meaningful projects led by students, parents, volunteers, and community members—all contributing in their own special way to this important cause.
1. Year 5 Fruit Salad & Ice-Cream Stall
Our enthusiastic Year 5 students proudly ran a vibrant fruit salad and ice-cream stall, working tirelessly from setup to clean-up. With the incredible support of their dedicated teacher and parents, the stall quickly became one of the highlights of the day. Their energy, teamwork, and commitment shone through in every moment, playing a major role in raising funds for this important cause.

2. Donation Box – Cash & Card Contributions
A donation box was also placed at the event, welcoming both cash and card payments. Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful parents and families, we were able to collect additional funds that significantly boosted the final total. Every contribution—big or small—helped make this fundraiser a true success.

3. Apee Kadee – Special String Hopper Sale & Daily Profit Contribution
Another major highlight of the day was the Apee Kadee String Hopper Sale, where 100% of the profits were donated directly to the flood-relief fund. In addition to the string hoppers, all profits from Apee Kadee’s other sales on that day were also added to the total contribution, further increasing the impact of this initiative.
This project was especially successful thanks to the generosity of our wonderful suppliers, many of whom provided their delicious food free of charge or at a very low cost. Their kindness ensured that the maximum possible amount could be directed toward supporting flood-affected families in Sri Lanka.
A special thank-you to:
- Ruwani – for fish buns and other treats
- Nishani
- Ruwani (Cutlets & Pancakes)
- Kushan
- Tony
And to everyone else who contributed behind the scenes—your support and hard work made an enormous difference, and we appreciate you deeply.
Gratitude to Students, Parents & the NPSS Community
We are incredibly proud of all our students who volunteered, helped, and added their enthusiasm throughout the event. Their kindness and willingness to support others truly embodied the spirit of the day.
A heartfelt thank-you also goes out to all our parents and families for their generosity, encouragement, and unwavering support. This fundraiser would not have been possible without your contributions.
A Proud Achievement
Through the combined efforts of students, parents, teachers, volunteers, and our community partners, we successfully donated $1,852 to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka account at the Reserve Bank of Australia on 9 December 2025.
This achievement reminds us of the incredible impact we can make when we join together with purpose and compassion.
